Breaking down prejudices about migrants by making the audience live the experience of a family in exile.
My roles on this project
Nos Vies d’Exil (« Our Lives in Exile ») is a training tool for French Red Cross volunteers working on welcoming migrants. We proposed an interactive-fiction format whose goal is to break down prejudices about migrants by giving users an immersive, realistic experience in the shoes of a family in exile. The aim is to make volunteers aware of the complexity of refugees’ lived experience, to improve how they are welcomed and supported.
The pedagogical approach of this game is to put learners in the shoes of a refugee family that has to make sometimes agonising choices in dramatic but realistic situations. To that end, we built a scenario rich and realistic enough to stir emotion in participants.
